New CD, ‘PERFECT STATE’ officially launched.
'PERFECT STATE', the first full recording of Ciarán Farrell's music was officially launched at the 'Clarence' hotel in Dublin last night. Guest speaker, author, and Man Booker Prize nominee, Colm Tóibin said at the event, "I think it's very important to remember the amount of music there from the past, from this country and other what we might call peripheral countries, away from the main places where classical music was supposed to have been made. It's terribly important to have this music available. And what a wonderful day for Ireland to see someone as young Ciarán Farrell having his music made available to everybody in the society in which he lives". The album itself, released on the RTÉ lyric fm label, features a wealth of Irish and international talent including: the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, conducted by David Brophy, The Smith Quartet, Craig Ogden – guitar, Gerard McChrystal - soprano saxophone, Sinead Farrell – flute and Roger Moffatt – vibraphone. It will be available from all major outlets and online in the coming weeks. |
